I decided to play in my first poker tournament in 2002. It was the $300 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold'em tournament at Foxwoods Casino. I had played poker before, but never no-limit and never
in a tournament. There were almost 500 people in the tournament and I ended up
in ~50th place. I didn't get any money, but I was extremely happy with how I did.
I decided to play the $500 buy-in tournament the following week and ended up
in 6th place out of almost 250 people. I won $5020 and was hooked!
Since then I've played in tournaments in Atlantic City, Los Angeles, Tunica, Aruba, and Las Vegas. Luckily I never really knew what to do with my vacation time. :)
